The Wild Valley Lodge
A fire, a river, and nowhere to rushThe stay
Made for a different pace.
A private one-bedroom mountain lodge for four, with a double bed, two single beds, a fireplace, family equipment and a garden made for slow barbecues above the river.
Set in the small village of Vergeletto in the Onsernone Valley, this timber-and-stone cottage is a warm mountain base for up to four guests. The main living floor brings together a fully equipped kitchen, a rustic dining table, a fireplace, pellet stove and underfloor heating. Raclette and fondue equipment make unhurried evenings part of the experience. The attic sleeping floor has one double bed and two single beds, with a balcony looking towards the river, valley and forest. A private garden and outdoor barbecue extend the living space, while the television, Apple TV, Netflix, Swisscom TV, Sonos speakers and game console provide options when everyone comes indoors. Lockbox self check-in allows an independent arrival and private parking is provided. The surrounding valley offers local hiking routes, small villages, inns and bars. Winter travel needs advance planning: heavy snow can leave the final road uncleared and may require a walk from the vehicle, so conditions should be checked before departure.

Location and surroundings+
The lodge is in the small village of Vergeletto in the Onsernone Valley, surrounded by forest, river and mountain scenery. The Airbnb listing highlights more than ten local hiking routes, small valley villages, inns and bars. Locarno is the nearest larger city for a wider choice of supplies.
Access and arrival+
Self check-in is available through a lockbox. Access is by mountain road. From November to February, heavy snow can leave the final roads uncleared; guests may need to walk approximately 30 minutes from their vehicle, and the nearest regularly cleared road can be about 2 km away. Check conditions before travelling and bring sufficient supplies when snow is forecast.
The exact private address and final arrival instructions are provided after booking.
